Rahuri in Ahmednagar Becomes First to have DigiLocker

Rahuri Municipal Council of Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra became the first Municipal Council to attain the status of integrated with digital locker for the issuance of all essential Documents. The service was launched on April 28, 2016, as part of Digital India Programme.

The service

Rahuri Municipal Council offers the following online services.

According to Shri Dilipji Gandhi, Member of Parliament who personally took interest in the initiative, the Website is integrated as an issuer and Requester with DigiLocker where the Citizen will have access to all these documents at any time. They will have freedom to access them from anywhere in the world at any time. The citizen of the area can now apply for the certificates like Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates online without going to Municipal Council and these documents will be available in the Digilocker signed to the citizens. This will also ensure them the peace of mind provided by the easy security of their documents forever.

About Rahuri municipality

Rahuri is a Municipal Council city in district of Ahmadnagar, Maharashtra. The Rahuri city is divided into 20 wards. The Rahuri Municipal Council has a population of 38,813 of which 20,140 are males while 18,673 are females (Census India 2011). Literacy rate of Rahuri city is 83.69 %, higher than state average of 82.34 %. In Rahuri, Male literacy is around 89.54 % while female literacy rate is 77.51 %. Rahuri Municipal Council has total administration over 7,841 houses to which it supplies basic amenities like water and sewerage. It is also authorized to build roads within Municipal Council limits and impose taxes on properties coming under its jurisdiction.
