About Vikaspedia

Vikaspedia is a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India initiative to provide e-knowledge and use ICT-based applications for empowerment of under-served communities. The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Hyderabad, a scientific society under MeitY is implementing the nationwide initiative.   

Developed as part of this initiative is the multilingual, multi-sectoral collaborative content creation platform - Vikaspedia – www.vikaspedia.gov.in / www.vikaspedia.in. Vikaspedia provides information covering 6 domains related to social development - Education, Health, Social Welfare, Agriculture, e-Governance and Energy in all 22 scheduled langauges of the country, besides English. Several value added information products/services are also offered as part of Vikaspedia.  

An exclusive section on Aspirational districts and a digital catalogue of schemes has also been added to the Vikapedia portal for the benefit of the citizens. 

About Vikaspedia webinar

With the objective of creating awarness about Vikaspedia and providing opportunities to the citizens of the country to utilize their skillsets for a national cause, Vikaspedia webinars are being organised.  

Who can attend

Any interested citizen who would like to know about Vikaspedia and volunteer for Vikaspedia can participate in the webinar. 

What will be covered in the webinar

The webinar intends to explain and demonstrate the following to the participants

  • A walkthrough the Vikaspedia collaborative content creation platform - objectives, offerings, stakeholders, etc
  • Hands-on session on Knowledge management in Vikaspedia portal – content authoring, review, updation, translation, etc
  • Volunteering opportunities in Vikaspedia - content digitisation, translation, creation, review, outreach, technology development, etc.

Webinar schedule

The Vikapedia webinars are to be held during the period 01 to 28 September 2020

Webinars would be held on all week days - Monday to Friday. The time slots would be 10 am to 12 Noon and 2 pm to 4 pm. 

The duration of the webinar would be for a period of 90 minutes. The entry to the webinar is free and open to all. 

The webinar would be offered initially in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. More languages would be added based on need.  

The date and time and link of the webinar will be sent to the registered members mobile number (as SMS) and email atleast two days before the webinar. Registered members are hence requested to check their Email for updates. 

How to register

Interested users can register online by filling a simple registration form available at  https://vikaspedia.in/webinar/vikaspedia-webinar 

The users would be communicated regarding the date, time and the link for participation in the webinar to the registered email id and as an SMS to their registered mobile number.

Download Participation Certificate 

A certificate of participation would be given to all the registered participants who attend the complete webinar session. 

You can download a system generated digital Participation Certificate from the link https://vikaspedia.in/certificate. The certificate would be generated after 24 hours of the completion of a webinar. 

You need to provide your Email / Mobile number (provided during your registration) to download /verify the participation certificate.
