Power for All programme

Electricity consumption is one of the most important indices that decide the development level of a nation. The Government of India is committed to improving the quality of life of its citizens through higher electricity consumption. The aim is to provide each household access to electricity, round the clock. The ‘Power for All’ programme is a major step in this direction.

Objectives

24x7 - Power for All (24x7 PFA) is a Joint Initiative of Government of India (GoI) and State Governments with the objective to provide 24x7 power available to all households, industry, commercial businesses, public needs, any other electricity consuming entity and adequate power to agriculture farm holdings by FY 19.

States where the programme is implemented

Ministry of Power, India started the joint initiative with 36 states and UTs for providing power for all. Joint initiative plans have been arrived at by each of the states.
