Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED)

UCEED

Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) is a test centre-based examination of 3 hours duration for admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad and IIITDM Jabalpur. UCEED score card is also recognized by many other institutes for admission to B.Des. programs. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) is the organizing institute. UCEED 2023 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign). UCEED 2023 score is valid only for admission to the programmes in the academic year 2023-2024.

Last date for online registration with late fee is November 16, 2022 (11:55 pm).

Eligibility Criteria for UCEED

A candidate, including a foreign national, must simultaneously fulfil each and every one of the following three criteria to appear in UCEED.

Criterion 1 - Age Limit
The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1998 if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1993 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

Criterion 2 - Number of Attempts
A candidate can attempt UCEED for a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years. Note that UCEED score is valid for one year, and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.

Criterion 3 - Qualifying Examination
The candidate should have passed in all subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2022 OR should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2023 in order to be eligible for attempting UCEED 2023.

Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2021 or earlier are not eligible to appear in UCEED 2023.

Students from all streams (Science, Commerce and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to appear in UCEED 2023.

Test Pattern

UCEED is a test centre-based examination and has the following two parts. It is compulsory for the candidates to attempt both the parts in the given time.

Part A: Computer-based test
Part B: Contains question related to sketching that needs to be attempted on the provided sheet.

The total time for the examination that includes both Part A and Part B is 3 hours.

A late fee of ₹ 500 / US $50 is applicable to candidates registering after the closing date of November 9, 2022 and till the late registration closing date, i.e., November 16, 2022 (11:55 pm)

January 22, 2023 (Sunday) 9 am to 12 noon

UCEED 2023 will be held in 24 cities in India only. Candidates should compulsorily opt for 3 cities of their choice, in the order of preference, at the time of online registration.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Des.

To apply for admission to the B.Des. programmes of the participating institutes, i.e., IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur, an applicant is required to fulfil all the following three criteria simultaneously.

Criterion 1 - Age Limit
The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 1998 if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and, on or after October 1, 1993 if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

Criterion 2 - UCEED Qualification
