The Convergence Model For Sustainable Livelihood In Kandhamal District

Kandhamal District in the state of Odisha is bestowed with scenic natural beauty and suitable agro climatic condition. Agriculture and Allied sector plays a major rule for livelihood support of the Tribal dominated population. Various schemes are being operated in the District through different departments for providing subsidy to the farmers for different activities but their divergent implementation does not result in effectiveness. In order to address this problem, Kandhamal District Administration has started a vision programme in the name of “Mission-171” where in model orchards of 5 to 10 acres of land have been established in each of the 171 Gram Panchayats of the District involving a single or a group of beneficiaries during the year 2018-19. Stakeholders from various Govt. Departments have been assigned with different activities as listed below. These model projects have helped in showcasing the convergence model for other farmers to replicate.
