Langol Peak Garden

About 60 kms drive from the heart of Imphal city along the Indo-Myanmar road, surrounded by beautiful landscape, hillocks and breathe taking sceneries, Tlanglhungbung Leikol or Langol Peak garden lies in the Langol Village of Machi Sub-Division in Chandel District .

It is said that in legendary myth Khamba-Thoibi of Manipur, Thoibi came to pick the very special flowers known as Thoibi-Lei from this peak. It is also a historical site for the World War 2 where allied force put up their camps. Langol Peak or Tlanglhungbung is now becoming one of the favourite tourist centres in Manipur.

 

Moreh Border Town

This is a busy commercial town on the Indo-Myanmar border, located at a distance of 110 kms. from Imphal. A shopping paradise for shoppers, sundry products ranging from electronics to daily consumable are available in plenty. Thois place holds importance for visiting tourists not only for being o border town but also for providing a unique opportunity for experiencing the different cultures, lifestyles of Myanmar through the neighbouring border town of Tamu which is only 5 kms. away across the border. There are numerous hotels providing accommodation at affordable prices for a comfortable stay at Moreh.

 

Yangoupokpi-Lokchao Wildlife Sanctuary

The Yangoupokpi-Lokchao Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1989 on the Indo-Myanmar border in the district of Chandel, which stands stretched over an area of around 185 sq km. There are 6 species of amphibians, 29 kinds of reptiles, 42 species of mammalians, 74 types of birds and 86 species of fish in this sanctuary.

Some animals that are found in this sanctuary are the Hoolock Gibbon, which is the only variety of ape seen in India, Himalayan black bear, stumped tailed macaque, slow loris, wild bear, pig tailed macaque, Indian civet cat, golden cat and many more.
